Trent’s love affair with the ocean began 27 years ago when he first discovered the joy of surfing. Since then, he has immersed himself in the world of water sports, spending approximately 20 years mastering the art of kitesurfing and the last 2 years exploring the thrill of foiling. It all began in his hometown of Wollongong, Australia.
While surfing and kitesurfing have held a special place in Trent’s heart, his current focus revolves around three captivating foil disciplines: prone foiling, wing foiling, and down wind SUP foiling. He is driven by the more progressive style of strapless foiling (hitting foam, unusual turns and turns in critical sections also mixed in with nice flow). Remarkable figures such as Mike Pedigo, Erik Antonson, Paul Cooper, and Matt Johnson inspire Trent with their incredible skills and innovative approaches to the sport.
Trent’s competitive spirit is eager to participate in the prone and wing divisions of the prestigious Merimbula Classic. However, he is particularly drawn to the unofficial “clip competition,” where fellow foiling enthusiasts showcase their best clips. Trent finds immense joy in witnessing the astounding progression within the community and the mutual motivation that arises from pushing each other’s limits.
Currently, Trent is investing his time in mastering the art of SUP in waves and exploring the world of DW SUP whenever the wind allows. He aspires to embark on long downwinders. Additionally, Trent has downsized his wing board, aiming to achieve a winging style that emulates the grace and techniques of prone foiling as closely as possible.
Beyond the thrills of water sports, Trent also loves caravanning adventures across the breathtaking landscapes of his home country, accompanied by his beloved family—a loving fiancé and an adventurous daughter.
