Tariff Update – April 24th, 2025
24.04.2025
To all our US-based customers,
We’ve been getting a lot of questions lately about the new tariffs the US government has introduced on imported products. We totally understand your concerns, and we’ll continue to share updates as soon as we have more information.
At Appletree, all of our boards are made in Portugal, within the EU. This puts us in a better position than many other brands whose boards are made in Asia. However, as things currently stand, our boards are subject to a 10% import tariff.
As things have settled a bit, and the tariff (for now) seems to stay at the 10%, we have decided to pay for the tariff so you don’t have to. So if you order a board form the USA now, we will send it to you in such a way that the delivery company (DHL, FEDEX or UPS) charges us, instead of you paying the tariff charge. This gives you the security that there are no hidden extra costs involved in your order!
If you’re asked to pay a tax when your board arrives, please give us a call right away using the US phone number listed on our website ( +16099174141). We’ll work with you to find a solution. Please don’t reject the delivery, as returning the board to Portugal and reshipping it can end up being far more expensive. The costs should be charged to us, but if they are somehow charged to you, we will cover the cost.
We are continuing to ship out all new and existing orders. Also, many of our retail partners in the US already have boards in stock. If you want to avoid any surprise fees, ordering directly from one of them is the safest option right now.
We’re keeping a close eye on the situation and will post updates as things develop.
Thanks for your continued support!
Kind regards,
Wieger Buurma
