Welcome back to another Appletree Surfboards Tech Talk video, today Wieger Buurma breaks down one small component that makes a huge difference: the Foil Drive Titanium Mast Plate Split Nuts, designed specifically for integrated trench boards like the Zapple and Zapple S.
We already know how much of a game-changer the integrated Foil Drive trench is.
By tucking the battery weight inside the board, the system becomes incredibly efficient, delivering up to 1.5 hours of ride time on a single battery.
But we also know the reality: when it’s time to swap that battery, removing the Foil Drive box and realigning the T-nuts can be a bit of a hassle.

Split Bolts are a redesigned fastening system for your Foil Drive mast plate.
While traditional T-nuts move freely inside the track, you often end up “fishing” for them or trying to line things up in the dark, the split design keeps the barrel tips visible and fixed exactly where you want them, making the mounting experience much faster and easier.

Traditional T-nuts slide around in the track, which means you often have to realign everything when reinstalling the Foil Drive box. Split Bolts stay in place, exactly where you set them.
