We proudly present The Applino V2
01.05.2022
An already great design got improved: the Applino V2! Paulino Pereira’s pro model. Best for kiting in the waves or performing strapless freestyle tricks in flat water.
The Portuguese Powerhouse
Paulino himself hardly needs an introduction. He is also known as the “Portuguese Powerhouse”. His riding style is truly distinctive: explosive and powerful, yet stylish and smooth. Paulino started surfing in 2004 on the island of Madeira. Since then he has been driven and inspired by the power of nature.
We go way back
Paulino joined the Appletree team in October 2017. After testing the Appletree boards for a few weeks, he was convinced. In fact, he was so confident that he competed on them right away. This marked the beginning of an incredible journey for us and we couldn’t have been more proud! Having a rider of such class on our team also meant that our strapless kiteboards progressed even more.
The creation of the Applino
Paulino’s talent, expertise and passion allowed us to start expanding our board lineup accordingly. We proudly launched Paulino’s pro model, the Applino, in 2018! The ultimate advanced all-round kite surfboard in our lineup. And since then the trustful partner of Paulino and many other riders in all conditions. From waves to smooth flat water.
Why an update?
Well, it’s 2022 and Paulino and the Appletree team agreed that we needed to take a fresh look at the design. We took our time and spent many hours on the water testing prototypes. We ended up making some very nice improvements to an already great design!
More user-friendly
Yes, the Applino is an advanced strapless kite surfboard, but that doesn’t mean you have to be as skilled as Paulino to enjoy this board as much as he does. We added a single center channel on the bottom of the board, right between the feet. This increases the board upwind ability by reducing the rocker in the middle of the board. Making the board more user friendly.
Master your freestyle tricks
To create better grip when performing your mind-blowing board-off freestyle tricks, the Applino V2 has grab rails in both the deck and the bottom!
Did we mention that Paulino is all about full power? This also goes for the freestyle jumps he throws. The Applino V2 is thin throughout with a slightly wider outline compared to a more traditional Klokhouse Noseless. This makes the rail bite a bit more so you can really put pressure on the board when initiating a jump.
Loose and snappy
Perhaps the most distinctive feature of the Applino V2 is that it is so lively and snappy. Some riders may experience this as somewhat nervous, but for those who like a loose and snappy board, this is exactly what makes the Applino so popular!
